About Unique Stained Glass Works

After opening Unique Stained Glass Works in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1994, Owners & Artist, Bill Anthony and his wife Merrilee moved to Alberta and settled in small town Didsbury in 2003. Shortly after arriving they opened a studio in town and moved to their current studio location in 2004 at the south end of this small town's main street. This full-service 1200 sq' studio and workshop offers Custom Work, Commissions, Repairs, Restorations, Classes and supplies .

Artist Bill Anthony, designs his own patterns creating original works of art. While working mainly with the foil and solder technique, he also works in lead came. The third style is Glass Mosaic, and he uses this technique primarily for outdoor pieces, such as patio tables.  Bill has been creating stained glass work for 28 years.

The creation of stained glass art is a 10 step process which takes you from the design phase through the cutting, grinding, washing, foiling, and flux application, soldering, cleaning, polishing, and pricing. Bill, an innovative and creative artist, has developed his own soldering techniques which give his pieces distinction and a 3-dimensional look, a process he teaches to his students.

Merrilee works alongside her husband in the business.  Her role is primarily taking care of the business of the business, and is a key sales person at all of the shows.  Merrilee also gets involved in the process, when needed.
